The olympafrica Center at Serekunda East Gets New GYM

New modern GYM equipments was recently installed at the B.O. Semega Janneh Olympic Center hall at Serekunda East.

These new GYM operates both day and night from Monday to Saturday 8.00 to 22.00 pm. It help the communities around Serekunda east and central to have the opportunity to train in a modern Gym at a very reasonable prize. It is arguably that most recent GYM equipment available to the surrounding sports personals. The materials equipping the gym are first class, second to none in the country and this is associated with competent qualified trained personals that are well trained in GYM operations.

According the Director of the center, Mr Alfousainey Jarju The GYM is a grant from the Japanese Embassy in Dakar to the Olympafrica Centre Serekunda East through the Gambia National Olympic Committee. The gym is a dream that come true for the people of Serekunda East Community and the Kanifing Municipality at large. It is an opportunity, now that there is a GYM training center which has the capacity to accommodate different circles of training with GYM trained experts who will provides training guidance and professional opinions. However this has never happen since the establishment of the center so we are therefore really grateful and appreciative in particular to the donors because without their intervention we will not be enjoying all the facilities at our disposal at the centre, said Siney Jarju.

The Director further stated that, the Olympafrica Centre Serekunda East is a Social and Development Centre for children and young people to adequate proficient knowledge in sports such as Athletics, Football, Volleyball, Handball, Basketball, Softball, Table Tennis, Karate etc. We do have Education and Cultural programs integrated into the Lower and Upper Basic schools within the vicinity of the Centre and the Municipality at large.
