Over 100 Participants in 3- Days Martial Arts Training.
The Gambia Martial Arts federation over the weekend organized a three days training course for all the Martial arts association in the Gambia .The event, which kick off at Bakau Community center then to Semega Janneh Hall at serrekunda East, aims at preparing participants for any eventual competitions . This according to the president of the association Mr Musa Cokar is an annual event which look into the strength and fitness of the people doing Martial arts in the country. He said because there are 5 Martial arts Association in the country namely: Kung-fu Karate, Jujutsu, Taekwondo and Judo, because there is the need to state such activity to evaluate their strength Mr Cokar mentions that the trainers came from Senegal and among them, was the president of Zone TWO who is a master and a black belt holder. Musa Cokar however pointed that, day one was meant for Master only, day two is open, and the third day wrapped up the whole program and there was a presentation of certificate to various associations and participants. In his speech the director of Gambia Kung-fu and PRO of Gambia Martial Arts Federations Mr Moussa Mamane said the program was attended by over 100 participants , including 35 Masters. He went on, Mr Sheik Tijan Faal the trainer from Senegal who double as the president of Zone Two federation of Judo and jujutsu and also the regional director Mr Mamane cited that before the Gambia Martial Arts existed but was not known to everybody , but now with the help of some committed members it is racing to international level .Both the President and the PRO thank GNOC for their support and encouragement to the association ,and not forgetting National Sports Council.
