Sports Management Course Kickoff at Olympic House

The five days training course on sports management for Disabled sports associations kicked off on Monday 31st October 2011 at the GNOC resource Center at Mile 7 Bakau warps up on Friday 4th November.

In its stride to develop sports for all and promote involvement at all levels, the country’s supreme sporting body, the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) will do everything possible make sure all the association under its umbrella shall benefit from a high profiled training and facilities they required to get . According to the president of the GNOC Mr Momodou Dibba Gambian athletes should now excel at the international level, but that cannot be done without undergoing training. This is why this training is a good tool for you the Disabled persons and if you make a good used of these lectures it will help you tomorrow and in your preparations in 2012 London games coming. We should also thank the Paralympics association for their wonderful  achievement and commitment they have manifested during  the game until they are identify  to  take part in London 2012 game , we will give all the supports keep the hard work, Dibba said. The GNOC president went on, the ultimate objective of organizing this course is to assist the disabled sports participants to develop a greater awareness of sports administration.

 

Thus this is going to help you as participant acquire adequate knowledge and skills in sports management and organization. In his part the secretary general of the GNOC Mr Peter Prom pointed some  difficulties the disabled persons are facing, he said this morning he has witness a Sean where a disabled struggling to chat up a transport to work, so disability doesn’t mean in ability. Mr. went on, course is part of GNOC’s drive to develop sports for all and promote involvement at all level, he urged the participants to make good use of this course, is for us GNOC but anything we are doing at own level is to develop and make the people running sports knowledge so as to run their various association as expected. Other speakers include the Former Director of youths and sports Mr Ebou Joof and the occasion was chair by Mr Momodou Demba the development officer of GNOC. Mr Lamin Sanneh the Governor of WCR and Ebou Joof are the course directors, the whole program was coordinated by Mary Decker
